REMEMBER GOD'S BLESSINGS

10/17/09

Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,

Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems you life from destruction,

Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:2-5 (NKJV)

The psalmist is filled with praise to God with his whole hear and being. He reminds himself to be aware of and to never forget all the blessings and good things God does for him. Though we are sinful and fall short of God’s standards, He is merciful and forgives all of our sins and removes them completely from us and God. He leads us away from evil, harm, and destruction, and He protects and saves us. He heals all sickness and disease. He loves us when we are unlovable and is tender in His dealings with us. He fills our lives with good things as we walk in His presence. He gives us new life and energy to do good.

Like the psalmist every Christian should determine to praise God from the depths of our being and to keep in our minds and hearts these blessings God gives us daily.

PRAYER: Dear God, My heart cries out in praise and thanksgiving to You. You deserve all praise, honor, and glory apart from any blessing to me. And yet You love me and forgive me and fill my life with Your goodness. Praise Your Holy name forever and ever!
