Word of the Week
EXACT OBEDIENCE IN EVERYTHING
| 12/19/09 So the people of Israel did everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses. Each clan and family set up camp and marched under their banners exactly as the Lord had instructed them. Numbers 2:34 (NLT) As the Israelites left their bondage in Egypt, God led them through the wilderness toward the Promised Land. He gave Moses very specific instructions for the people to follow. They were willing and obedient. They did everything exactly as God commanded. There was no partial obedience, no half-way compliance. Each family and each person willingly submitted to the position and place God assigned to him. There was no complaining, comparison with others, or jealousy over someone else’s placement in God’s plans. Each listened and obeyed, doing everything exactly as God instructed. We need to be just as complete and exact in our obedience to God. We do not need to understand why God chooses to place us where He does or why He gives us the experiences and tasks to do that He does. It is our place to fully submit to God, to listen to Him with an eager willingness to hear, and then to obey everything He tells us exactly as He instructs us. We are the only one who can be in our place and do our God-given work. PRAYER: Dear God, Help me to hear You and to be fully obedient to You. I want to do all You tell me to do. Help me to submit more completely. Lead me according to Your plans and place for me to serve You. Loose the bonds that still hold me back from serving You with all of me. |
