PRAYER ADN PRAISE TO HONOR GOD
| 1/23/10 Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself; how I praise You! I will honor You as long as I live, lifting up my hands to You in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest of foods. I will praise You with songs of joy. Psalm 63:3-5 (NLT) David had much anguish in life even while he was anointed by God. He teaches us how to honor God with our lives. He praises God for His unfailing love declaring that God’s love is more precious than life itself. He praises God with songs of joy. He also keeps in constant prayer and communion with God. He doesn’t hide from God but shares his every sorrow and fear as well as his joy in God. As Christians we, too, want to honor God as long as we live. Prayer and praise are the way to do that. Prayer connects us with God in every emotion and in every circumstance. It allows us to trust God no matter how things seem. Praise glorifies God. Praise acknowledges the power and majesty and goodness of God far above our finite minds. Praise releases an inner joy that does not depend on outward circumstances. It becomes our strength. PRAYER: O most holy God, How I long to honor You in all that I do as long as I live. Teach me to pray and praise You. Open the floodgates of my soul in praise to You. I worship You, my Lord and King. |
